The Nigel Farrier story I started my martial arts career somewhat late in life as I approached 40. My initial introduction was in Shotokan Karate where I obtained my first black belt. Now in my 50s I wish I had had the courage to start a lot earlier.
After that I started hunting around as I was a sponge for information. This led me through a variety of styles (inlcuding other fomrs of karate) to ju jitsu.
I now have the rank of 3rd dan in a shotokan based karate and 1st dan in ju jitsu. I also study and teach kobudojitsu. Over the last year or so I have started to be invited to provide seminars on karate kata and bunkai, ju jitsu and self defence and kobudojitsu (mostly sai, nun chuku and bo at the moment) and I have started on some DVDs for sale as well (the first one will be on the Sai)
