Attendance Analyzer thingy Hi all,
Can some one help me I am having trouble with this function. What I esentially want to do is see what students have attend 80% or more in the past 4 weeks.
I either come up with results where students are getting 100 or 200% + results or if I do it over a weekly I get 0% results in a particular week that I know that students have attended.
Thanks
John

Maybe an explanation of the logic used by the program will help you understand your results.
First, the program looks at the class enrollment(s) for each student then from this it figures out the maximum number of classes a student can potentially attend in one week based upon the training days you have set for each class. Next the program looks at the attendance for the student in each week. Finally it just divides the max # by the attendance #. So, if you are getting 200% then the student is attending more classes then they are enrolled in.
It's a logic that may not be ideal for some schools and in those cases it should be used for qualitative rather than quantitative analysis.

Is there a way to also include quantitative analysis then Al?

I would recommend you add more enrollments for the students. This will establish the maximum number of classes the student can possibly attend.

Hi Al,
I still dont understand that logic but here is the logic as a school owner.
Student A is enrolled into 1 of the 3 possible classes per week,
Student B is enrolled into 2 of the 3,
Student C is enrolled into all 3.
Now as an owner I need to know some of the following:
If Student A attends 80% or more of the classes that they are enrolled/committed to do I will reward them for fantastic attendance.
If Student C is only attending 40% of the classes he is enrolled in I need to identify him to see if I can boost his attendance or restructure his class schedule.
If Student B is attending 3 classes per week so he is attending above what his enrolled to do then not only does he need to be rewarded for fantastic attendance but given a good job note.
Just my input.

I'll use an example this time.
Student A is enrolled into a Karate class that meets three times a week,
Student B is enrolled into a Karate class that meets three times a week and a kobudo class that meets twice a week,
Student C is enrolled into a Karate class that meets three times a week, a kobudo class that meets twice a week and an iaido class that meets once a week
This means that for Student A to have perfect 100% attendance he/she must have attend the enrolled Karate Class three times a week. If they attend more than 3 a week of the Karate Class they will show greater than 100%. If he/she attends 3 classes a week and also attends the kobudo class he/she will still only show 100% because they are not enrolled in the kobudo class.
For Student C to show 100% perfect attendance he/she must attend 3 Karate classes, 2 kobudo classes and 1 iaido class a week.
Hope this makes it easier to understand.
